                                                                                 Chapter One:  Groceries

                                                                                   Page Three . . . "in the check-out line"

This panel may come across as a bit "unkind," --- particularly because it singles out a "senior citizen."  However, as a "senior" approaching septuagenarian status, I think I can address the topic authoritatively.  The point here, of course, is that the pace of life in the suburbs is very different than The City.  Those who dislike the Big Apple often cite its crazed pace as a reason --- it is a 24/7 city and there is a shortage of patience, at times.  The trade-off, of course, is you can get more done (it seems) because you are always moving at a rapid clip.  Which is yet another reason folks prefer suburban life.  There's less noise, less "hustle & bustle," and there's that more "livable" pace.  That all may well be true, but if your motor runs fast and you're used to "getting in/getting out" of the grocery store, you might find a trip to the suburban grocer a bit slow for your taste.

                  Thanks for reading!
