Who knows where ideas come from, right? I was never a fan of the rock band AC/DC. So, when the obituary for Malcolm Young, the AC/DC guitarist, appeared in the paper over the weekend I read it, as I do with obituaries, and didn't think twice about it. Malcolm's brother, Angus, is also in AC/DC and is the more memorable due to wearing the shorts, cap, and blazer of a British school boy. For some reason the name "Angus" popped into my head and I got an idea for a short story --- one about a rock band from "back in the day." The result of that idea, as it evolved over the last couple of days, is here:
I'm hoping you can just click on that link and it will take you to the location on this website where the story is available. If it fails to do that, you can go to the tabs above ("Home" The Blast-Blog,"The Blast (Archive), etc.) and go to "More," where a drop-down menu will appear. Slide down to "New Writing" and the story (A Piece of History) will appear. You can also "copy" the URL and cut and paste it to bring you to the site.
The story is a satire and, hopefully, will read well and cause the reader to laugh here and there. This is an early draft and I would LOVE feedback about it. That said, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy it.
