                                                           The Godfather
                                                                                     2017 Sequel

You may have heard there are folks in the West Wing who are referring to Donald Trump, Jr. as "Fredo," the bumbling middle son of Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather movies.  Working from that idea, I thought it might be fun to cast a 2017 "sequel" to Coppola's masterpiece, using the current denizens of Washington, D.C.  If you have ideas to add to this "scratching the surface" casting notion, please feel free to send it along in the "comments" below.  Ciao!
Picture
"Don" Vito Corleone - head of the powerful mafia family - played by Marlon Brando
Picture
"Don" Donald Trump -- head of his own criminal family
Picture
Michael Corleone - the favored son who takes over the family after Vito's death.  Played by Al Pacino
Picture
Jared Kushner, the favored son (in law)

Picture
Fredo Corleone -- the overlooked, slow-witted son who ultimately betrays his family.  Played by the late, great John Cazale.
Picture
Don Jr. - the slow witted son (and we thought that was Eric, right?) who has created enormous problems for the family.
Picture
Kay Adams -- Michael's long-suffering wife who knows the family's up to no good but is powerless to stop it.  Played by Diane Keaton.
Picture
Ivanka Trump -- Jared's wife who talks a good "reform" game but is actually powerless to accomplish anything -- but is making a handsome profit from her product line!
Picture
Santino "Sonny" Corleone - the hot-headed heir apparent of the Corleone family until an unfortunate toll booth "accident."  Played by James Caan.
Picture
Steve Bannon, the hot-headed Special Advisor to the "Don."
Picture
Tom Hagen - "adopted" son & Consigliere to Don Vito.  Played by Robert Duvall.
Picture
General Michael Flynn - the (now disgraced) National Security Advisor to President "Don"
Picture
Salvatore Tessio - primary "Capo" to the Don who later betrays the family.  Played by the late Abe Vigoda.
Picture
Chief of Staff Reince Preibus - former RNC chairman whose loyalty is often questioned by the Administration.
Picture
"Capo" Peter Clemenza - considered the "less bright" Capo (to Tessio) but famous for his "Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli" line.  Played by Richard Castellano
Picture
Press Secretary Sean Spicer - Trump's Clemenza (what more needs be said?)
Picture
Connie Corleone - the Don's only daughter, whose abusive husband is "disappeared" by the "family."
Played by Talia Shire
Picture
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the Deputy Press Secretary who acts like a victim of abuse behind the podium.

Think you nailed it...Bob Duvall's role could also be played by any one of Trump's lawyer's or even Roy Cohen.
