                                                             Chapter Two:
                                                                            “On the Road”/Driving

Driving is always a dangerous proposition.  Let’s face it, you’re sitting in upwards of 3000 pounds of metal careening along at anywhere from 50 to 80 miles per hour!  On the face of it, that cannot end well.  Even if you were on one of the “test courses” we see in TV commercials, there’s always a chance you’ll swerve, hit a pothole or bump, turn the wheel too fast --- all of which can lead to a tragic, if not fatal, CRASH!  When we make that equation more complex, by adding innumerable “wild cards” all around us, it’s incredible we can leave home and make it back in one piece day after day.

In today’s Suburbo we look at several of the “wild cards” you are most likely to encounter on any given day on the Merritt Parkway or Interstate 95.  If you have driven on a major parkway or highway you have, no doubt, “met” some of these characters in your own driving career.

Thanks for reading and a have a great (final April) weekend!
